Encouraging Positive Connection and Wellbeing:
A Roblox and Games for Change Challenge | Guidelines
The boundaries between real life and online life continue to blur for today's youth, with many children and teens citing digital life and friends being as important to them as real life, and online interactions having very real effects on their wellbeing.
Games for Change is partnering with Roblox to spur the creation of new games on the Roblox platform for all ages that equip players with the skills and strategies needed to foster positive digital community, build personal resilience, and protect against online risk, scams, and misinformation.
The Challenge: Encouraging Positive Connection, Community, and Online Safety through Play
Design a game on Roblox that enables players of all ages to learn and practice skills that foster positive communities, improve mental health, or help safeguard against online risks.
Example themes to explore:
- Working together toward shared goals that lead to outcomes for the wellbeing of the community.
- Building positive communication skills and empathy.
- Reducing loneliness
- Building resilience against online toxicity.
- Safeguarding against online risks and protecting personal identifiable information.
- Avoiding common online scams.
